Momos are delicious dumplings that are popular in Tibet, Nepal, and northern India. They can be filled with meat or vegetables and served with a spicy sauce. To make momos, you need to prepare the dough, the filling, and the sauce. Here is a step-by-step guide to make veg momos:

Step 1: Making the dough

  • Take 1cup flour and 1 cup semolina(suji),1teaspoon salt,1 teaspoon oil in a bowl. mix well.
  • Gradually add 3/4 to 1 cup of water and knead into a smooth and soft dough. You may need more or less water depending on the flour quality.
  • Cover the dough with a damp cloth or a lid and let it rest for 10 minutes


Step 2: Making the filling

  • Finely chop 1 cup of cabbage, 1/4 cup of carrot, 1/4 cup of french beans, 1/4 cup of capsicum, and 1/4 cup of onion. You can also use a food processor to chop them.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic and 1 tablespoon of minced ginger. Saute for a few seconds until fragrant.
  • Add the chopped vegetables and salt to taste. Stir-fry for about 10 minutes or until the vegetables are cooked but still crunchy.
  • Add 1 teaspoon of cumin powder, 1 teaspoon of coriander powder, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder. Mix well and turn off the heat.
  • Transfer the filling to a bowl and let it cool slightly.
